What if your AI assistant is making you overconfident instead of helping you think better?
Jeff Keyes (AI Product Strategist) explains why relying too heavily on ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other AI assistants can encourage intellectual laziness.
Generative AI makes it incredibly easy to produce documents, marketing materials, ideas, and content with just a few prompts.
But there's a problem.
When AI generates something quickly and tells you it's great, how do you know the work is actually good?
Jeff warns that AI chatbots can be overly agreeable, praising users instead of questioning their assumptions.
That's why he takes a different approach when using Claude AI.
He configures his Claude instructions to challenge his ideas, argue with him, and push back when something doesn't make sense.
Instead of using artificial intelligence as a tool that constantly validates his thinking, he wants an AI assistant that helps him improve it.
The lesson isn't to stop using AI.
It's to use AI for critical thinking, constructive feedback, and better decision-making rather than accepting every response at face value.
Would you rather have an AI assistant that agrees with you or one that challenges your thinking?
