“Humans Shouldn’t Just Approve What AI Spits Out.”
Is keeping a “human in the loop” really enough?
Louis Rosenberg (AI Researcher & Innovator) argues that humans shouldn't simply sit at the end of an AI system and approve or reject whatever answer it produces.
Instead, humans should be part of the deliberation itself.
His vision for human-AI collaboration has people and AI agents thinking together, with each contributing from their strengths. AI can bring information and computational capabilities, while humans contribute judgment, reasoning, intuition, and perspectives that artificial intelligence may not have.
Rosenberg believes that humans and AI deliberating together at scale could ultimately become more intelligent than humans or AI working independently.
Research has shown early signs of that potential, he says, but whether large-scale human-AI systems can consistently outperform both remains an open research question.
The future of AI may not be humans versus machines. It could be humans and AI becoming more capable together.
Should AI make the decision—or should humans and AI actually make it together?
